I bought two of these

"I bought two of these bunkbeds for my upstairs bunk room for my grandkids. They look great, they are sturdy, and the kids love them!!"

Patricia G. (5/5)

This bunk bed is awesome

"This bunk bed is awesome for our 5 and 2 year old boys. I thought we were going to have to wait years to get them bunk beds and then I saw these low profile bunks and knew they would be the perfect size. I'm only 5 foot tall and my head comes up over the top railing. Their room is small and their beds were both in rough shape, but we didn't want to pay for "in between" beds and we wanted beds sturdy enough to last as they get bigger. As far as sturdiness goes, they supposedly hold 400 lbs each, but I'm not sure if that is accurate. We tell our 5 year old not to jump or stand on it because we can see it bowing with that kind of pressure. It seems fine when he uses it appropriately. Also, the side slats (safety rails) bow when he leans on them so I've asked him not to do that. I think the beds will hold an adult, but I would be cautious about letting kids play on the top bunk."

Pleasantly surprised by how good

"Pleasantly surprised by how good the quality was. I didn't expect such a good product for the price point. It took about 3 hours to assemble by myself, but it was totally worth it."

Sara C. (5/5)

We absolutely love this bed!

"We absolutely love this bed! The material is such good quality and it was not hard to put together! Definitely worth the price!"

Erika B. (5/5)

Just Okay

"Not all pieces fit nicely together during the build. The alignment was off slightly, which was frustrating. The color is darker than it appears online and less white washed. The bed is not as sturdy as I would like, and it does not appear to be constructed of real wood."

Jessica L. (3/5)

Sturdy and easy to

"Sturdy and easy to put together. My kid loves it! The ladder is space efficient."

Huiying J. (5/5)

April C. (5/5)

"Grandkids love it"

Sally (5/5)

Love it!

"Love the our new bunk beds. Assembly was relatively easy. Our 3 and 5 year old love the new set up. Dimensions are perfect. I’m general it seems sturdy, some of the wood seems lightweight and makes me nervous to get into the top bunk with my little one but the weight limit says it can hold. I would recommend it!"

Tara L. (4/5)

Pleasantly Surprised

"I wasn't sure what to expect from the quality given the reasonable price, but I was pleasantly surprised! The hardware is all excellent quality, the instructions incredibly clear, and the finishing touch of providing little white filler knobs for unused holes was really nice. The bed itself is sturdy-- climbing onto the top bunk as an adult it does not wobble or budge at all. The footprint is perfect for our small room and low ceiling; kids are thrilled and so are the parents."

Q&A

Would I be able to use a 12” twin mattress for the bottom bunk or is this mattress too tall and would limit head space.
Hello, We recommend that you do not exceed 8" on the bottom bunk. Thank you
Why is there not a footboard on the bottom bunk?
Hi Krista! The bottom bunk does have slats at the foot. The trundle does not have slats or a footboard so it can slide under the bunk bed.
Hello, is it possible to remove the lower bunk and use this bed as a loft before switching it over to a bunk? We are ideally looking for a bed that can be both a low loft and turn into a bunk!
Hi Lisa, Thanks for reaching out! This bed must be assembled in full as a bunk bed. It is not convertible to a loft. Thank You, The Max & Lily Team
What is the recommended age range for use of the top bunk? We are trying to decide when to transition our little one to a bunk with a sibling below
Hi! According to U.S. safety standards, children ages 6 and up are safe to sleep on the top bunk of a bunk bed. The bottom bunk is only 2 inches off the ground, so it's a great sleep option for younger children. Thanks, The Max & Lily Team
What is headroom height of bottom bunk?
Hi! There is approximately 31 inches of headroom on the bottom bunk. Thanks, The Max & Lily Team
What is the weight capacity of the top bunk?
Hi! Each bunk has a solid pine wood slat roll and a metal support bar and can support up to 400 lbs of resting weight. Thanks, The Max & Lily Team
What is the maximum thickness that the top mattress can be in order for the safety rail to still be above the mattress?
Hi! We recommend using standard twin-size mattresses no thicker than 8 inches to maximize guardrail height on the top bunk. Thanks, The Max & Lily Team
Can the ladder/ladder opening be configured on both the left and right side of the end of the bed? Or is everything pre-drilled set for it to be on the right hand side of the end? Thanks!
Hi! The ladder can be placed on either the right or the left side of the bed to fit your space. Thanks, The Max & Lily Team
Can you get a railing for the lower bunk?
Hi! We sell Add-On Guard Rails to fit on the sides of our Low Bunk Bed. Here is the link to shop: https://maxandlily.com/products/safety-guard-rail?variant=31314764693615 Thanks, The Max & Lily Team
