"While this is a beautiful set, the nonsolid wood components of the bottom of the drawers and the back of the dresser off-gas horrible smells that make everything smell terrible despite leaving windows open and drawers open to air out. All the clothing that we put in the dressers reek like plywood/particle board or whatever the material is so badly days later."

"Strong smell. I bought this dresser for the Greenguard Gold certification as I was shopping for someone with breathing issues, but it smells strongly like an Ikea piece. I've been in contact with customer service, and they assure me that the finishes are non-toxic and that the offgassing is normal, but I have purchased other wooden items with this certification that had little to no smell. I'm very disappointed and wish I could return this expensive item. I live in a small apartment and have nowhere to off-gas this thing. If you're looking for something that won't smell, this is not it. It also came with a chip in the wood (hidden part) and we needed to buy a rubber mallet to finish putting it together as the back panel was stuck improperly aligned, but I wouldn't even care about these annoyances if the thing didn't smell so strongly. Lots of particleboard in here, btw. I think this is no better than the Ikea pine dressers in terms of materials used. Shipping was fast, though."
