Alright - Seems Solid-ish but still stinks

"Solid wood but this is a softwood species which means it can be dented easily and one of the boxes was damaged and so was some of the parts. One visible part on the bed is split and we didn't notice until it was assembled. For kids, this isn't great as they will have a habit of banging things into it. One slightly annoying part of the process is different parts ship separately so it was a while until the stairs and trundle arrived. The part we don't like about this bed is it is still off gassing and still makes the room stink. We don't have any other furniture in the room yet or even the mattresses so we know it's the bed itself. Manufactured in Vietnam so I'm not sure how confident the "low" VOCs claims are but it hasn't improved after a week and ventilating the room only helps temporary."

"This bunkbed looks beautiful and took butt took over five hours to put together again. I might pay the extra and have it put together if I were to buy it again. I like that there’s a little shelf on the end of the step area where you can put books. I was also concerned about the 8 inch interest on top for this one, but it works perfectly and there’s plenty of room for protection."

"Well made! We absolutely love this for our grandkids. Shipping was fast!"

"Big mess...shipped via FedEx, and apparently they don't have dollies, because the driver slammed it down, then dragged it to my house. Box is all chewed up on all edges, so this delivery has been through a lot. Guess we will find out if anything is broken inside when we open it."

Great support on the chat

"Great support on the chat app prior to ordering. I believe her name was Zoey, provided info on out of stock item and sent pictures of the other items, showing how they look in different lighting. Just excellent service. Once ordered, it was easy to track and was delivered as listed on the tracking info. Was not hard to put together. and the grandson has loved sleeping in the bunk beds."

Great bunk bed!!!

"My daughter absolutely loves this bed! Assembly wasn't bad at all (she helped) and it feels quite sturdy. She even has a suggestion: to make the bottom bunk more private, hang a sheet from underneath the top bunk. :3 (Please ignore the messy room. )"

Q&A

Does the bottom mattress matter size?
It is not as crucial as the mattress for the top bunk, but you want to make sure whatever size you choose allows the child to have enough head room.
Is the 400 lb weight limit for both beds or just one?
Hey Sarah! The weight limit of 400 lbs is for each bed, not both of them together. That means the top bunk can hold up to 400 lbs, and the bottom bunk can also hold up to 400 lbs. So, whether you're planning a sleepover or just want a cool place to dream, this bunk bed is ready for the task. We hope this information is helpful, and let us know if you have any other questions!
how comfortable are your mattress? are the mattress firm or soft?
Hey Lori! Thanks for your great question. We know how important a good night's sleep is, especially for growing kiddos! Our mattresses offer medium-firm support and are designed to be the perfect balance of soft and firm. Remember, everyone's preference for mattress firmness is a little different, so what feels just right to one person might feel too soft or too firm to another. We've done our best to find a happy middle ground that we hope will be just right for you! Hope this helps and sweet dreams!
I'm wondering if my current mattresses will work - they have a thickness of 9.5"
Hey Laura! Thank you for reaching out with your question. The Twin over Full Staircase Bunk Bed has 13.75" guardrails on the top bunk. To ensure safe sleeping, your guardrails should be at least 5 inches taller than your mattress, so we do not recommend using a mattress thicker than 8.75" on the top bunk. We recommend using either our Max & Lily 5-inch twin memory foam mattress (https://maxandlily.com/products/5-inch-twin-memory-foam-mattress-with-breathable-washable-cotton-cover) or 8-inch twin memory foam mattress (https://maxandlily.com/products/8-inch-twin-memory-foam-mattress-with-breathable-washable-cotton-cover). We want to make sure you have the best experience with your bunk bed, and that starts with the right mattress fit. Please reach out if you have any more questions!
What drawers should I purchase to go underneath the pecan twin over full bed with staircase?
We recommend these storage drawers! https://maxandlily.com/products/underbed-storage-drawers?variant=41083185365103
Can the stairs be switched out to a ladder if we want to change the design at a later date?
Hello! It is not possible to change the stairs to a ladder.
Can the stairs be in either side of the bed
Yes! You can choose the side you have the stairs on upon assembly!
What is the width of the staircase only?
Hello, From the end of the banister to the point of connection of the staircase is 19 1/3" Thank you
How many boxes should I expect to receive for all the parts/pieces to this bunk bed? Or is it all one big box?
Hi! This bunk bed with staircase ships in 2 boxes. Thanks, The Max & Lily Team
What is the max weight of a person sleeping in the top bunk?
Hi! Both bunks have strong plywood slats and a metal support bar to create a high weight capacity of 400 lbs. Thanks, The Max & Lily Team
