"I just assembled this today for my son's new toddler room and am really disappointed in the Pecan finish. It is SO dark, and looks more like a muddy, fake, walnut finish, not a lighter natural finish that was advertised. I purchased this months ago so most likely out of the return window but hopefully can save someone else from the headache of receiving the wrong color. All of the other items in his room are a lighter, brighter natural wood as depicted in the web images for Pecan, but unfortunately, the actual Pecan finish is nowhere near what is shown. Take accurate marketing photos!!!"

"An exposed part of the bed was damaged/chipped, and we are awaiting a response on a replacement part. Overall the product seems good, although the spacing between the slats is a horrendous 9" gap for both the bed and trundle, and most mattresses require a 5" max gap (some as little as 3") so we have to buy extra slats individually or a new slat set from a 3rd party to ensure proper support, which is disappointing, and looks to add another $50 to the cost to complete the frame correctly."

"Assembly was pretty straight forward. We can get frustrated when putting things together. This time everything worked well, layed everything out and put it together. Had only one question to double check on how screws went in. My 8 year old grandson helped drll the screws in. The only issue I had was that this bed set came from Vietnam and had a definite smell. Leaving the door open helped to get the smell out. I guess I thought this was a family owned business in the US. Trundle beds with good quality are not made anymore the best I could find was this one."

- Can the trundle be set up to pull out from either side of the bed? Or does it have to slide out from the right side? We want to set up a room for our kids where one trundle bed pulls out from the left, and the other trundle bed pulls out from the right.
