I am very pleased with this bed. Good quality for a reasonable price. Love how it looks!
I spent months contemplating what bunk bed I should buy... waiting too long and the style I wanted from Max and Lily was sold out! I’ve been eyeing options from that other store known for bunk beds and just couldn’t pull the trigger on something that felt overly priced. I’m SO glad I went with this bunk bed. It’s fulfilled all my needs without breaking the bank! I put it together myself, with 3 needy kiddos in tow, and only needed assistance when lifting the top bed on top of the bottom. Plan for a few hours, and a bit of sweat equity, but I promise you it’s worth it!
Putting it together was pretty easy. All the pieces went into place perfectly. My girls love it and it seems as sturdy as it says it is. My husband and I have both crawled onto the top bunk to lay down with our 6 year old and it seems to be sturdy enough for us (thank goodness). The description does say up to 400lbs for both beds and that is one of the reasons I purchased it. All other beds I see online are for top bunks holding 165lbs if that. We are sure to skip the step on the ladder that only has wooden dowels though. I wish they all had a metal screw in them. We haven't had the bed that long, but so far so good! (The price is good too!)
So far no complaints about the bunk itself (only using the bottom full at this time) BUT the directions, I mean they need a redo. I can navigate and read directions well and have built MANY a furniture item. This just didn’t have to be so difficult at all and it was and took 2 adults each with their own set of tools close to 4 hours to fully assemble. Lost a solid 45 having to undo the whole headboard bc when we tried to connect it it became clear we had made a mistake due to the unclear directions included. Everything was well labeled but the directions just lacked detail. Worth the struggle once it’s built because it’s really a cute looking bed. The kids love the bunk and we often read up there and I feel very well supported although it definitely wobbles if people are moving around but I fully expected that based on the design. Also to note that we went with a 8.5” mattress for the top and an 11” mattress for the bottom.
