"This bunk bed is very sturdy and made of real wood. Both beds can accommodate up to 400 pounds. I shopped for many months looking for the "right" bunks for my boys and this one came out the winner. We opted for the drawers instead of the trundle and got full over full. The company says no bunkie boards are needed. That is true, but we have a memory foam mattress on the top and feel it might wear funky without one. Other than that, they are good looking bunks that are withstanding two rambunctious boys and we can lie down with them to read at night."
