"Overall, this is a great bed for our kids. Putting it together came with a few frustrations, but it's similar to ikea construction, so that wasn't surprising. It's lightweight but still feels sturdy. It's soft pine, so it already has a few minor scratches (and bite marks from my toddler). The ladder is removable, which is a plus for us so we can take it off during the day to prevent my youngest from climbing to the top bunk. We have an 8" mattress, so it's too tall for an adult to sit upright comfortably, but I've slept on the bottom bed with my son and it's plenty strong. I can see this bed lasting through my kids' childhood, so for the price, I think you can't beat the value."

- When unbunked, the picture shows identical beds. Does that mean the headboards and footboard are interchangeable? The bottom bunk in the bunked picture shows two tall head/footboard and the top bunk shows to short.

- Hello I understand the concern you have regarding possible VOCs. Low VOC means there are no harmful chemicals included in our paints and finishes. Our products are tested using independent, third-party accredited test laboratories. We test yearly for chemicals of high concern (presently 66 different chemicals), and those with high levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). All of our finishes and glues comply with current US standards (incl. ASTM, EN71 and CPSIA standards). Our products also comply with European EN747, EN71, and Reach XVII Safety standards. The VOC detection level is 0.5mg/kg and all of our finishes test “None” - (i.e. nothing detected). You can be assured that our products are safe for use. Our products’ glues and finishes are tested for and comply with current furniture and children’s furniture standards & regulations. More specifically our testing program includes but is not limited to testing for contents of heavy metals (incl. lead), toxins, formaldehyde and volatile organic compounds. Thank you
